Q. How can I figure out if my dishwasher is affected?

Q. What should I do if my dishwasher is an affected model?
If you have one of the affected models, please stop using the appliance and contact a local ASKO certified service professional immediately to schedule a free repair.
Q. When does this problem occur?
In the specified models, this problem can occur while the dishwasher is in use, not when the dishwasher is sitting idle.
Q. Can I continue to use my dishwasher until a repair is made?
No. If you have one of the affected models, please stop using the appliance and contact a local ASKO certified service professional immediately to schedule a free repair.
Q. What could potentially happen if I continue to operate the dishwasher?
The issue is related to a possible fault in the power cable that can overheat due to insufficient contact and cause smoke to escape the dishwasher housing into the consumer’s home.
Q. Why is this a voluntary recall?
Upon learning of the potential problem with certain models of dishwashers manufactured between 2016-2017, we notified the appropriate federal authorities at the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), and we are working in full cooperation with the agency. We want our customers to be safe, and we volunteered to recall the affected models and quickly make necessary repairs.
Q. How many ASKO dishwashers are part of this recall?
Approximately 26,600 ASKO dishwashers sold in the United States and 4,300 units sold in Canada. Only certain ASKO models are part of this recall, and they are listed above.
Q. Where were these dishwashers manufactured?
The dishwashers were manufactured in our facility in Velenje, Slovenia.
Q. Does this mean that ASKO products are not safe?
Not at all. ASKO is committed to upholding the highest standards of quality craftsmanship and reliability in all of our brands. We are committed to the safety of our customers. To insure their safety, we are voluntarily recalling and repairing these affected units and working with federal authorities throughout the process.
